These sessions mark the beginning of four similar projects taking place throughout the county (Reading, Bracknell and Slough) with an aim to get more women more active, healthier and back into sport.
The first week of morning sessions start on Monday 30th January 2012 and will run for 5 weeks. During this time women of all ages will get an opporuntity to take part in Badminton, Hockey, Netball and Football. Whether they are coming back to the sport or trying it out for the first time everyone is welcome – so bring a friend and re-discover your sporting ability!
Kirsty Brammer, Relationship Manager for England Hockey said:
‘This is an exciting new opportunity for all women to get involved and try a variety of sports in a leisure centre local to them. By working together with other National Governing Bodies of Sport, we are able to offer a range of activities to appeal to a wide audience and with the support of the leisure facilities and local coaches, we are hoping to minimise the barriers that currently limit women’s participation in sport.’
