Berks & Bucks FA, joined 7 other County Football Associations at a presentation at Wembley, where the award was presented by Lord Triesman – The Football Association Chairman, Paul Elliot, former Chelsea defender and Sue Hough – Chair of the FA Disability & Equality Advisory Group.
The Equality Standard demonstrates how our organisation widens access and reduces inequalities in Football.
The Equality Standard is divided in to 4 levels, Foundation, Preliminary, intermediate and advanced. The first level looks at developing the organisation. Evidence is collected against our commitment to equality, our policies and how they are communicated to staff and customers and our awareness of our current profile in terms of equality.
Berks & Bucks FA are committed to continuing to develop in this area, and the accreditation is only the beginning. Our aim is to spread the message of inclusion in football far and wide, ensuring that everyone gets the opportunity to play football.
Berks & Bucks FA would like to thank staff, volunteers and key partners in their involvement in this process and look forward to the challenge ahead.
