Berks and Bucks FA - developing football for everyone
Get Into Football

Volunteers

A football club is about far more than the players on the pitch.

The FA is committed to supporting the volunteers in club football that make up the backbone of grassroots football.

A well-run club should feature the backroom staff of a Fixtures Secretary, fundraisers, a welfare/child protection officer and a Chairperson to oversee the club’s constitution, as well as the frontline first aiders to act as physios and team coaches.

The FA recognises the value of volunteers and provides guidelines to clubs on how to recruit, retain and reward volunteers.

Finding Volunteers

Like many amateur sports clubs in the UK, they are ran by volunteers, who are rushed off their feet doing 3 different roles to keep the club running smoothly!

If that sounds familiar and you feel your club could benefit from having some additional support, whether it be in the area of coaching, administration or help with the running of an one-off event.

Volunteer Centres

Volunteer Centres work to recruit volunteers, and provide support and training to organisations working with volunteers. There are 10 Volunteer Centres across Berks &  Bucks;

Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead, Bracknell Forest, Reading, West Berkshire, Wokingham, Vale Volunteers, Volunteer Centre Chiltern & South Bucks, Volunteer Centre Milton Keynes, Volunteer Centre Wycombe District

Berks & Bucks FA offer a number of volunteering opportunities and are keen to reward those volunteers currently working within clubs via the Football Workforce awards (information TBA)
