This cup was first played for in season 1996/1997 when Reading Royals Ladies were the winners. Reading Royals Ladies have won the Cup seven times in thirteen seasons. Last season Reading FC beat Chesham United Ladies in the final at Abingdon United, 4-2 on penalties after the scores were level at 0-0.
