Berks and Bucks FA - developing football for everyone
Development - take your skills to the next level

Facility Development

Funding for pitch and facility development is available from the Football Foundation and the needs of the project will be driven by your football development plan.

The facilities scheme gives grants for projects that:

- Improve facilities for football and other sport in local communities.
- Sustain or increase participation amongst children and adults, regardless of background age, or ability.
- Help children and adults to develop their physical, mental, social and moral capacities through regular participation in sport.

The Football Foundation funds projects up to the value of 90% of the total cost, however it is more realistic to be looking at around the 50% level so you need to consider partnership funding. The Football Foundation will look more favourably on projects that try to secure more funding by applying to other sources, even if not successful (any rejection letters should be keep to show you have applied).

The types of facilities that the Football Foundation give money for are:
Grass pitches drainage/improvements
Pavilions/clubhouses and changing rooms
Artificial turf pitches and multi-use games areas
Fixed floodlights for artificial pitches
Revenue grants are also available to deliver football development associated with the new facility (e.g. coaching, football development officer).

The maximum grant available from the Foundation for each facilities project is £500,000.

More details are available on the Football Foundation website www.footballfoundation.org.uk

The first stage of application is to complete an Expression of Interest form on the Football Foundation website to give us more information about your project and the football development outcomes.

Pre-Application Workshops
To support clubs and organisations applying for facility grants from the Football Foundation we run a number of pre-application workshops across the year giving applicants the opportunity to discuss their project and receive technical, financial and development advice from Berks & Bucks FA, the Football Foundation and The FA

Dates for the workshops are currently being organised.

If you have successfully completed and submitted the pre-application forms on the Football Foundation website and familiarised yourself with the Football Development plan (templates on the right side of this page) and would like to attend a workshop then please click here
