Special Olympics have been working to arrange more regular football competition for players with learning disabilities in the region. The Special Olympics Southern 5's will start in November.

Please note, that this IS NOT a Unified Football event. These may be added in the coming years if there is interest from the region. If your group does not currently do football, maybe now is a good time to start?
As per the invitation, all teams and players MUST be Special Olympics GB SAM registered by the time they attend their 2nd event. This means players can attend 1 event before committing to accreditation.
You’ll also find attached the registration form, team sheets and team Divisioning forms which will ALL need to be returned to Jason Cornwell at least 2 weeks before the event. If a team wants to attend a handful of these events, they should indicate this on the registration forms, and submit team sheets for each event they wish to attend. You also find attached the rules which will be used for events.
Jason is also looking for event volunteers and qualified referees for each of the events, so if you or you know of anyone who wants to get involved in such roles, please ask them to get in touch. The hope is, that over time to create a regional volunteer team who takes on the responsibility of running these events in the months and years to come.
These events will be linked to and supported by The FA and its County’s.
