We are working with 2 Disability Officers at Reading FC and Milton Keynes Dons FC. The positions have been made possible by funding from the Football League Trust over a 3 year period. Aided by the employment of these officers we will work with a number Charter Standard Clubs to be able to expand on the football opportunities they offer to include disabled players within their clubs either integrated into their teams or as a separate team.
The Officer at Reading will be covering the development of grassroots pan-disability teams for adults, youth and females from West Berkshire to Slough whilst the Milton Keynes Officer will be covering the development of impairment specific opportunities, a special schools league in the north of the County and developing grassroots pan-disability teams, both adult, youth and female as far as Aylesbury Vale. Already we have a hub of disability teams operational in Milton Keynes.
