The Football Development Team here at Berks & Bucks have worked over the last month to come up with a local process which will be more convenient to clubs and hopefully cut the administration in half.
You'll be pleased to hear that for the 2011-2012 season no club will have to do a health check!
The new process will take effect after affiliation next season. Below is a timeline and brief explanation of the new process.
1st October – 31st October: Member’s Services drive.
1st November – 30th November: Health Check MOT.
1st December – 31st March: Club to work on action plan.
1st April – 30th April: Red Clubs addressed.
1st October – 31st October: Member’s Services drive
We will write to all Clubs on the benefits of using Member’s Services to check affiliation data is correct, be able to notify us of any team changes (additions/non-starters) and to amend any coach information.
1st November – 30th November: Health Check MOT
Between these dates each Clubs qualification record is printed off and forms the first part of your ‘MOT’. The second and third part of your MOT is a check on Discipline (points score & Admin issues) & Welfare (any current outstanding Welfare Cases or issues).
Each Club will be contacted to let them know at what stage they are (signed off etc).
FDO’s will have their split of clubs to work with during this month on the following traffic light basis;
80% - 100%: Green –sign off with no further action (unless CRB needs completing, see below regarding CRB)
51% - 79%: Amber –sign off (action plan and CRB list)
50% - below: Red – in-progress (action plan, CRB and review in April). Leagues will be made aware of these clubs to help support.
CRB list: Any Club who has outstanding CRB’s (not showing against an individual) must be put on the Outstanding CRB list before 30th November. The County Welfare Officer will take this information after this date and make appropriate recommendations on how to deal with them (make contact with Club Welfare Officer’s, hold multiple signing off evenings in areas as examples).
1st December – 31st March: Club to work on action plan
During this period Clubs will be asked to work on their individual action plan. FDO’s are there to provide any clarification on any points the Clubs need but contact/communication should be minimal due to the information provided in the action plan.
1st April – 30th April: Red Clubs addressed
Another MOT is printed off to see if action plan has been worked on. If no progress Club will be contacted to discuss options. If Club will not address action plan they will be lapsed and will have to re-apply for Charter Standard in the future.
A list of the lapsed clubs will be sent to the Charter Standard Leagues so they know which of their Clubs have to re-apply.
In-Progress Clubs will not show as Charter Standard Clubs on the Find a Club function on the website until they have been signed off.
