About Us - promoting local football

David Lewis

County Welfare Officer

About My Role

My role as County Welfare Officer is varied and ranges from investigating complaints affecting the Safeguarding of Young People, to education, to being the lead for the Respect Programme.
I act as a liaison with Statutory Authorities such as Social Services and the Police as to the appropriateness of certain individuals to be within the game of Football.

About Me

Joined Berks & Bucks FA in June 2008.

For my sins, I am a big Carlisle supporter, it is the nearest you can get to Grassroots in a professional League!

Background in sport though is mainly from Rugby, having played Scottish Division 3 with Howe of Fife and Harris Academy.

As can be seen in my profile photograph, a proud owner of a two year old Border Collie called Pem, although I do sometimes wonder who owns who!

My one main ambition in the Grassroots game is for money from fines for misconduct in the Professional game to be ploughed back in to the lower levels and professionals to realise that they are Role Models.
